Kuripe

A sacred shamanic tool & pipe to self administer medicinal rapé & herbal snuffs.

These are unique, handmade & hand carved by indigenous women in the amazon from sacred chonta wood. This is the most durable, strong, and powerful wood used to make arrows and utensils by the indigenous people.

Made with love in Peru

These are classic & DOUBLE NOSTRIL kuripes.

Here is a modern shamanic guide with step by step instructions to self administering rapé, the sacred medicinal snuff of the amazon:

Step 1: Find an appropriate place to serve yourself your rapé. Medicinal rap is traditionally consumed in a ritualistic way, as it is believed that it connects you with the forces of nature and allows you to receive the healing and blessings of sacred medicinal plants.

Step 2: Ground yourself into the present moment and focus your intention for this prayer. What information are you hoping to receive from the plant medicine? What guidance are you seeking from the spirits of the forest?

Step 3: Take your kuripe and hold it up to your third eye. Then hold it up to your heart. With the short end of the pipe blow towards your left side of the body over your shoulder honoring the feminine. Repeat on the right side honoring the masculine. Hold your pipe up to the sky. Honor father sky, grandfather sun, grandmother moon & the star nations. Honor your ancestors. Hold your pipe down to mother earth. Honor her for sustaining you in all the ways you need each and every day. Honor your journey on this red road of life. Honor all of your relations. Hold the pipe out through the center of your heart honoring all of the elements within you.

Step 4: Place the kuripe to each of your chakras to open your luminous enegery field in a clockwise rotation. ( I like to call in the serpent, jaguar, hummingbird & condor)

Step 5: Place your kuripe down and open your rapé medicine. Recite your rapé chant or prayer as you measure out the amount you would like to consume on the palm of your left hand ( receiving hand).

Step 6: Load up the nose end of your Kuripe applicator ( in this case both ) with the medicine in your palm. Tap it on your hand a few times to make sure all is in the pipe and to loosen any air pockets.

Step 7: Begin to focus on your breath. Take some nice deep breaths. Box breathing is helpful ( inhale for 5, hold for 5, exhale for 5, hold for 5. ) Spray some “ Muña: Andean Mint Breathe Green Tonic “ to open the space and cleanse and purify the air, opening the channel of your breath. When you feel ready take a deep inhale HALFWAY, place the mouth end of the kuripe ( short end) in your mouth and fit the nose ends snugly into your nostrils. ( with this pipe you are administering the medicine into both nostrils at the same time)

Step 8: Lean forward a little, close your eyes and blow the rap into your nostril. ( sounds like you are shooting an arrow quickly or making an “fff” sound at the end of your blow. ) Snap your fingers around the crown of your head and around your aura to clear any stuck, old, or negative energy that is being moved out of your field.

Step 9: Take a moment to experience the powerful dosage of the rapé.

Step 10: When you feel ready and the intensity has subsided, you can blow your nose or spit in some tissues to clean yourself up. Ground into the present moment, bringing all parts of yourself present. Allow your consciousness to connect to Mother Nature, to the healing plants & the spirits in the medicine you just consumed. Feel mama earth beneath you. Place your hands on her.

In a similar way to working with the master plant teachers, when you consume rapé, you are also signing up for an apprenticeship with the medicinal plants within your blend on a more subtle level. As you continue to work with your rap, you enter into a dialogue with the plants and the plant spirits.

I invite you to listen.
